#EYorksHour | 28th Jan | Roundup

Last night #EYorksHour said hello to it’s new administrator and in the spirit of new starts’, the weekly theme opened up conversations for participants to talk about new projects, services, start up businesses, events and of course what’s new for 2014.

Beer in a bottle introduced themselves to the network for the first time as a ‘startup’ company and we were quickly able to help with signage, searching for suitable premises and ideas for a launch party; including invitation designs and delicious foods served in a refurbished Citroen H van!

In addition @EYorksHour announced the new #spotlight60 concept which will give participants the opportunity to question one account about their business/cause/campaign/promotion for the first 60 seconds of the hour. If you would like to be in the spotlight, then please email eyorkshour@gmail.com for further details.

Interesting fact:

@ChefmartynShaw announced that Driffield has been declared the safest place to live! This statement really intrigued us, so we went on a fact finding mission to find more information about why it’s the safest place to live: http://www.driffieldtoday.co.uk/news/local/driffield-among-uk-s-safest-place-1-6401295

#EYorksHour

What is EYorksHour?

East Yorkshire Hour (#EYorksHour) is a designated networking hour in which local people have the opportunity to discuss their businesses, events, charity campaigns and promotions with the aim to build relationships, gain advice and new business contacts.

Where? When? How?

Every Tuesday between 8pm and 9pm, participants are encouraged to join in with the conversation by including #EYorksHour in their tweets. Meaning that if you search for #EYorksHour you will find tweets from other networkers who are online and ready to mingle.

Networking style?

Each week we introduce a theme for the hour, encouraging participants to interact by making a contribution to the discussion whilst helping the network to grow. The themes are focused around business and sometimes have a fun twist too!

You can get involved by offering your top tips and recommendations or replying to another networker about their tweet.

During the hour, @EYorksHour (administrator) will re-tweet your tweet to ensure it reaches everyone taking part and will 9/10 respond to you and keep the momentum going. The @EYorksHour account also tweets out guidelines before and during #EYorksHour to inspire you with ways to answer and get involved.

After the hour has finished, a blog summary called #weekly #roundup is circulated with highlights, tips, photos, events and interesting facts that were spoken about during #EYorksHour in case you miss anything.

Any tips for a first time networker?

We have collated our #toptips that you can read HERE and if you would like to contribute to this, please let us know.
